The Audacity of Libs

From the Campaign Trail

First, some observations from recent TV spots run by California Democrat candidates.

Here’s a still-relevant statement by Bill Clinton during an earlier presidential primary race: “Jerry Brown continues to reinvent himself.” Now Brown's seen the writing on the wall of the Tea Party movement (and California’s financial disaster) and is touting living within our means! After championing living outside our means for many years. Of course, being liberal means never having to say you’re sorry, or wrong – you just go on like nothing happened. Liberals seem to have a blindspot when it comes to consistency, introspection & hypocrisy.

Another example of that is when Barbara Boxer has the audacity and stupidity to blame Carly Fiorina for her outsourcing HP jobs abroad when she was CEO. Of course the rest of the story is that the Democrats’ negative business climate (taxes, regulations) has driven business and jobs out of California in droves, and forced businesses to make tough business decisions to stay above water for the rest of their employees. They can’t just mindlessly legislate huge spending bills, bailouts and taxes like the government to create jobs – and even those jobs have generally been non-revenue-generating government jobs. First they mess up, then they blame it on their opponents – what a deal! Again, being liberal means never having to say you’re sorry. On top of that, Boxer supported the extremist water policies that dried up California’s breadbasket, and put many thousands of farm workers out of work in central California.

And Pres. Obama is back into the audacity game, chastising Republicans for always being in campaign mode. Hmmmm..... wasn’t it just the other day Obama was on the stump to his constituency demonizing “Boehner” many times in one speech? And in other stump speeches sounding more like his campaign persona than a president, being divisive rather than uniting? Maybe in his mind it's legitimate for Dems to to be in campaign mode because they're not hateful or bigoted, or idiots, and they're right. And of course the Dems gave Bush a pass during his entire presidency, didn't they? It's truly an incredible lack of self-awareness when you think about it, or else taking the electorate (including his constituents) for idiots -- take your pick.

The Tea Party continues to send a strong message of no more business as usual, with Christine O’Donnell’s GOP senate primary victory in Delaware – for Biden’s seat. Why not? We already got Kennedy’s. And we're gunning for Harry Reid's.

Obamacare & More GZ Imam

Initial court appeals against Obamacare by several state attorneys general appear to be off to a favorable start. The states are arguing that it is not within the defined limits of Congressional powers, and infringes on states’ rights. Federal lawyers had been arguing that it lies within interstate commerce regulation, but appear to now recognize that won’t fly, especially with the mandated purchases of health insurance under penalty of large fees. Up until the bill passed, and until now, they’d avoided calling it a tax for political reasons, but now calling it a tax appears to be their best hope for keeping Obamacare. And even that hope is beginning to fade according to observers of the arguments in court. And if that part of the bill falls, the whole bill stands to fall, because in their cockiness or haste or being lost in the 2,000+-page details, they failed to include a severability clause – that if one part is found invalid, the rest still stands. But even if it had, it couldn’t have remained solvent, as that was the vital part of the funding.

What sweet irony – that the Dems would waste an entire year and all their energies focusing on Obamacare, only to see it evaporate. And especially since it distracted them from the more pressing concerns of the economy & jobs (not that their ideas would have worked, anyway), which will kill them in the mid-term elections. They blew it big-time, and their arrogance and misguidedness brought it on themselves. But all this seems to have a silver lining, in that the contrast seems to have awakened the American people as to their American core values, and how antithetical Obama’s are.

And now it turns out that one of the Ground Zero mosque imam’s closest associates is a Truther – wants to deflect blame from Muslim extremists onto the US government. Birds of a feather.
