Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap

Campaign 2010 is in now in full swing. Democrat die-hards and their media allies are pulling out all the stops and slinging mud . Incapable of taking on the real issues and defending their abysmal performance on the economy, etc., they have a whole army of information thugs digging up any dirt they can find on Republican and Tea Party candidates. More typical Leftist smear tactics. The things they’re coming up with clearly indicate their level of desperation.

They ridicule O’Donnell for having hung out briefly in high school with friends dabbling in witchcraft, and say that’s beneath the dignity of Congress. And yet clowns like Al Franken and Steven Colbert are not? Or those who more than dabbled in drugs or terrorism in college, or more recently and to this day more than dabble in Marxism/socialism, such as a number of Obama’s cohorts? And for all their liberal tolerance and inclusiveness, are they really so willing to offend the Wicken vote? Maybe so, since they’re too small to matter politically. I thought liberals stand up for the little guy. Where’s the ACLU? If someone dabbles in Islam, then go to the head of the class! Christianity? Go sit in the corner. And they accuse conservatives of hypocrisy?

They really called out the dogs on Meg Whitman, with another Gloria Allred grandstand October surprise. They found that Meg had let their 9-year housekeeper go after she admitted being here illegally. She’d shown forged documents when originally hired. One claim is that they knew earlier because of a letter asking for clarification of information, which Meg’s busy M.D. husband had given the housekeeper to provide the information. And they claim she was treated poorly – earning nearly 3 times minimum wage for all those years (poor, exploited woman!), and when dismissed. What were they supposed to do, turn her in? Heaven forbid with the liberals’ bent for sanctuary cities. Were they to break the law by continuing to employ her, and give liberals more fodder? A sad attempt to fabricate hypocrisy. And it appears to be backfiring, after some of Jerry Brown’s staff have been found to be employing illegal aliens. But that will no doubt get no attention in the liberal press – either that’s not hypocrisy for a liberal, or being liberal means never having to say you’re sorry.

Then there are Boxer’s outrageous accusations against Fiorina. Here’s my Oct. 1 letter to the editors of 3 LA area newspapers:

“Who says there’s no bipartisan agreement? When the two most liberal papers (LA Times & San Francisco Chronicle) in a blue state have failed to endorse one of the most liberal senators, Barbara Boxer, she clearly has become an embarrassment to all Californians. They call her arrogant and gaffe-prone, with poor intellectual firepower and leadership, and no meaningful accomplishments. But she is fighting for her 18-year political life – so that she can continue to be an embarrassment to California and the country. And she accuses Carly Fiorina of looking out for herself?!”

“What has Boxer done other than support the negative business climate (taxes, regulations) that has driven business and jobs out of California (and the U.S.) in droves – effectively outsourcing them? This has forced businesses to make tough decisions to stay above water for their remaining employees. What gall, to accuse Fiorina of outsourcing some jobs to save many others in the very climate Boxer has fostered! Businesses that must make a profit to stay afloat and pay employees can’t just mindlessly legislate huge spending bills and taxes such as Boxer has supported – with many non-revenue-generating government jobs that will bankrupt us like Greece. Boxer also supported the extremist policies that have put thousands of California farm workers (including migrants) out of work – effectively outsourcing food production.”

“Given California’s 12.4% unemployment (30% in some counties), $19 billion deficit, a budget 3 months overdue with more furloughs & IOU’s, and some of the country’s highest state income and property taxes, we must change course. This state (& country) needs to regain some of the business sense it has driven away, before our spending & debt (state and national) become unsustainable by a shrinking economy. Fiorina (and Whitman) brings that needed sense, and respectability. No more business as usual!”

Then there are the personal blogger and media attacks against Joe Wilson (Alaskan Tea Party candidate who beat incumbent McKlusky in the GOP primary) on his religion, plaid shirt, guns, etc. Now that 1/3 of voters identify w. the Tea Party, the media is starting to take it a bit more seriously. Maybe moreso after the November rout.

House minority leader Boehner got the one-two punch – one for his bourgeois tan from the media (he says he mows his own lawn). And then repeated attacks by president Obama, who along with his wife’s boondoggle to Spain, etc., has taken an amazing number of golfing vacations, given economic conditions.

The Circular Firing Squad

Obama & Biden are blaming & chastising their own constituency for whining (see the video below of a disgruntled middle-class Black supporter), for not being tough to see it through, and for not appreciating what he’s done. Reminds me a bit of Hitler in the final days saying the German people deserved to lose. The problem is they (& we) do appreciate it for what it is – just not what they purport it to be. And Obama is trying to soften the November blow by anticipating it, saying that if it’s about the economy, they will take a beating. But the majority of Americans are not only displeased with the economy, but his performance overall, including Obamacare – his supposedly main achievement. The proof of that is that no Democrats are touting Obamacare as a great achievement in this election. Or TARP, bailouts, etc., etc.

And the answer to that black woman in the You Tube video who’s tired of defending Obama and asked when will he help the middle class is, no time soon. They’re letting the Bush tax cuts expire in the midst of a serious recession. And breaking for Congressional recess to try to salvage their campaigns rather than help pensive business by defining next year’s tax code. His economic advisers have been jumping ship right and left before the economy gets any worse and totally demolishes their careers. And his chief of staff, that prince of darkness Rahm Emanuel, is eyeing a job truly in keeping with his character – mayor of Chicago.

Now that Obama’s religious beliefs have become an issue, he’s expeditiously begun going to church, after avoiding it for the first 1 ½ yrs of his presidency. Or perhaps his polls and pending loss of Congressional majority are finally humbling him a bit – he can no longer just push forward unilaterally on his own charisma.

I haven’t substantiated a report that Obama’s not signing Eagle Scout recognition letters, but I wouldn’t put it past him, after his no-show at the Centennial Jamboree, and general distancing from their values. The president is traditionally the honorary president of BSA. An honor not deserved by a man who in so many other ways is dishonoring his office. And he continues to dishonor and dismiss the majority of Americans who disagree with him. Respect is a two-way street.
