PS on Occupy Wallstreet et al

From Occupy Venice, Calif.: "We want to take our government back." No, you're the idiots that put Obama in government. Or maybe I misunderstand, and you want to get on board the Tea Party train that already left the station?

Another is against the special & financial interests that have bought and paid for government. Now there I can agree, although no doubt in a very different way. Like the unions, welfare class, media, Hollywood, liberal special interests, etc.

Another demands that debts be forgiven -- personal debts like credit cards, loans, mortgages, etc. Yes, probably an economics major. And when that happens, everyone with money in banks that has been loaned loses, businesses go under, and economic chaos reigns. Noone would ever get loans again. If our national debt were forgiven, or other countries' (like Greece), the entire global economic system would collapse. But of course that's exactly what the Marxists (& Jihadists, etc.) want -- then they think they can step in and take over, just as they did in Bolshevik Russia, and will possibly do in the Arab Spring.

In other ways they are very much like jihadi terrorists, who focus on and find it easier to tear down than build up. They all seem to know what they don't like (although there's no unanimity), but really can't say what the solution is in any coherent way. If they tear it down, it will miraculously be better. Just like the Arab Spring, Communist revolutions, Iranian revolution, French revolution, etc., etc.

The ardent supporters of closing the income gap are of course by far the less wealthy who envy and covet the wealth of the wealthier (oh, of course there will always be some Hollywood-types who cathartically give lip service to the masses to be adored). They (the less wealthy) are the ones that stand to benefit.

And some claim the wealthy aren't paying their fair share. Let's see, half the population is already paying no taxes, and mooching off the rest for government services, infrastructure, welfare & food stamps, health care, etc. And who's paying for it? The top few percent are paying the majority of taxes. That's not fair? Right -- not fair that so many are getting something for nothing, and can keep voting to take more from the wealthy they envy -- a form of legalized robbery. And when the cash cows are milked dry, and have lost all incentive to produce, we'll all be equally miserably poor, and any businesses with any sense will have moved abroad.

And not that any miniscule fraction of these '60's wannabees would have any absolute moral compunctions or beliefs (their behavior belies them) or semblence of a real conscience, but some 3,000 years ago the God they don't seem to believe in gave a commandment that seems relevant: "Thou shalt not covet." For all their anti-greed rhetoric, there's another scripture that comes to mind: "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" (Matthew 7:3)

And yes, they would stop greed by law, by force, or whatever. A clear pattern of that arch-revolutionary in heaven, Satan. He and his hosts were cast out of heaven by God, rejecting his plan of coercion rather than free agency. If Mayor Bloomberg had any compunctions at all, he'd cast these bums off his streets. But evidently he, too, is in league with them. Oh, that's right, he's a liberal Democrat.
