1. The Left is the Bigger Threat

Alan Dershowitz (a prominent liberal lawyer & spokesman) told Dennis Prager that liberals/progressives need to understand that the Left is a much greater threat than the Right.  Clearly they've nearly hijacked the Democrat Party -- Keith Ellison (DNC co- or vice-chairman) openly endorses the fascist, violent Antifa movement, and nearly half of them voted for Socialist Bernie Sanders.

2. Trump’s Intelligence & Racism?

The Left-leaning media & cohorts continue to do what they do best -- character assassination, rather than issue engagement.  They equate eloquence or articulateness with intelligence, and politically correct speech with lack of bigotry.

How ludicrous, questioning Trump’s intelligence after Obama’s stupid policies – “stupid is as stupid does,” to quote Forrest Gump.  The very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results – like policies with N. Korea, Iran, Russia, China, Syria, national debt, poverty, racial divisiveness, etc.  There’s actual intelligence behind Trump’s policies that already are seeing tremendous improvements.  Besides the fact that Trump’s IQ is higher than Obama’s.

Politically correct speech can mask deeper inclinations, and give a false sense of morality or goodness.  Politically incorrect speech can be misinterpreted, especially when the person is otherwise so resented, as Trump.  And I think the obsession or preoccupation with Trump’s past comments about some Mexicans, or more recently conditions in Haiti, El Salvador & some African countries is just that.  There are, of course, some bad illegal Mexicans – Trump has been working to get gang criminals out.  But he’s for making DACA a law rather than temporary executive order that Obama made.  He didn’t say all are bad (and in fact in the same statement said some were good), contrary to the anti-Trump racist narrative.  And he rightly pointed out the horrible conditions in these specific other countries or regions, but also expressed openness to allowing more from other non-white countries to immigrate.

Trump is trying and succeeding to create conditions here that will improve the lives of all people.  The Left never wants to offend other countries (or our Blacks regarding inner cities) by acknowledging horrible conditions, and engaging in dialogue on solving the conditions effectively.  They may condescendingly (the soft bigotry of low expectations) & to soothe their conscience, or make themselves feel better, throw some money at them, but never solve the problem, as African scholars have noted.  Just as they think throwing money at our schools (especially in California) will help, but they only worsen.  Or throwing money at “shovel ready jobs,” or “cash for clunkers.”  Their intentions may be good, but we really ought to care more about results, and that is what Trump is doing.

Obama, on the other hand, felt that racism was in the genes of whites, that there was institutional or systematic racism in society or specifically law enforcement.  And lent legitimacy to the racist, incendiary (resulting in the deaths of many police), and divisive Black Lives movement.  They ignore actual statistics.  All that Obama, Holder & Lynch did seemed seen through the eyes of racism, racial preferences & affirmative action rather than the race-blindness, character & merit that MLK sought and our justice system should seek.  And at the end of Obama’s 8 years, the country is clearly more racially divided, despite demonstrably better conditions for people of color – largely because of the narrative of the Left.  No, the Left use the race card to divide and appeal to a constituency that they continually offer promises to, but never deliver.  They ignore the reality of the most racially diverse, tolerant & equitable nation on earth, and want to make it out to be the worst – blowing any imperfection anywhere out of proportion or completely distorting it.  It’s like something out of “1984.”

Of course they’ll sweep under the rug the cursing and more racially charged statements of LBJ and other Democrats, but think it’s the end of the world if Trump uses a lesser expletive in private.

3. Oprah for Prez?

Oprah was in the spotlight at the Golden Globe awards, making a highly politically correct speech to make herself a champion of women against male offenses.  And many Dems and Leftists are swooning with another great orator and potential candidate for president.  How soon we forget that we just had a great orator – whose policies and results were horrible for the economy, national security (N. Korea, Iran, Syria, China, Russia), race relations, etc.  What we need is good policies.  Leadership involves more than communication skills – also vision.  And more than the identity politics of a token Black woman to further prove to ourselves or others how unbigoted we are.  Like racial preferences & affirmative action.  The fate of our country is too important for us and the world for the presidency to be other than capability-, policy- and merit-based.

4. Uproar Over Bannon Quotes in "Fire & Fury" -- More Fake News & Trump Derangement Syndrome

The MSM seem fixated on a dubious book purporting insights into the Trump White House, including Steve Bannon quotes, and any feud between the two -- and avoid covering the significant accomplishments and real issues. The White House has every right to refute it. And I find it in keeping with his showmanship background, and propensity for jabbing back, that the president would personally host a "Fake News Awards" presentation (the "Fakeys"?) to counter all the self-adulation of the many other awards programs in the media and entertainment. Of course the media are self-fulfilling prophets, constantly focusing on the trivial and negative about the president, then saying, "See how low his polls are?" Actually, they're not all that low, and better even than some of his Left-leaning counterparts in Europe who've been so prone to openly criticize him. And in several countries the Left is really in trouble after failures, and the Right ascending.

We'll see who lasts, and whose policies prevail, which is much more what I'm concerned about. Note the shifting from focus on Russian collusion to other things, as it becomes increasingly evident there is no there there, and people can only tolerate so much crying "wolf." The media also seems to think there is an iron-clad correlation between articulate speech and intelligence, but Trump's IQ is higher than Obama's. And his domestic and foreign policies have already been shown to be superior in terms of results. But the media would distract from the latter, still suffering from Trump derangement syndrome.

The Founding Fathers were well aware of the power of the press, for good or ill.

5. Unrest in Iran
Interesting turn of events in Iran. While the mullahs are busy spending the country's resources on exporting terrorism, Islamic revolution and death abroad, and maintaining their nuclear development capabilities, their people are neglected. A recipe for disaster that is coming back to bite them.
There are also similar rumblings with desperate escaping soldiers from North Korea, which has been squandering its resources on nukes & ICBMs (& the lifestyle of the leader) to similarly threaten the US. Just like the over-confidence and over-reach of ISIS. And the Soviet Union. There seems to be a pattern here. But of course the leaders always blame someone else.
There have been chants of no more money for Syria, Hezbollah, Lebanon, Iraq and Oman, and even death to the supreme leader.  They've got to be pretty down and desperate to be risking their lives saying that.

7. The Tax Reform Act

Well, the tax reform/relief act is official! A great Christmas present for America. It will directly benefit some 90% of Americans, and indirectly no doubt the rest. Quite the opposite of Obamacare, which burdened and cost more for a similar fraction. But of course Chuck Schumer was out pointing out the small number that might not benefit, and that the wealthy are also getting a break – always looking to redistribute more wealth in socialist fashion rather than put more in almost everyone’s pockets, and re-ignite the economy. And to twist the news for political benefit. They always find some disadvantaged group to buy votes from, rather than looking out for all (or many more) Americans. For them the glass is 10% empty, rather than 90% full.

Though Trump and others get credit also, I feature Paul Ryan’s photo here because this has been a pet project of his for the last 20 years, and he seemed the most elated over it.

An added bonus in the bill was the elimination of the Obamacare individual mandate tax. A "tax" thanks to the Obama administration's (and Supreme Court's) definition of it as such. Therefore, it was possible to eliminate it under a tax bill, after the earlier Obamacare repeal attempt came up short. And while Obamacare was imploding already, this should accelerate that, driving a stake through its heart.

And suddenly the Dems are espousing fiscal deficit/debt responsibility after doubling the national debt under Obama (just like "getting religion," suddenly being sensitive to sexual harassment after Kennedy, Clinton, etc.). But they ignore the likely added revenues due to economic growth that also occurred when taxes were cut under Kennedy & Reagan. And the additional revenues (and jobs) that will come onshore due to companies coming home due to lower corporate taxes, and paying some rather than no taxes. Dems should be elated over that, after all their former complaints over outsourcing.

And they have no room for complaint over the partisan nature of the bill -- especially after the way Obamacare was passed, and after Trump's reaching out to them for bipartisanship. No, they and their base hate him and the GOP so much after their election loss that they couldn't be seen working with him, even for the greater good.

And the relief offered by reversal of massive over-regulation will also help unleash the economy, which is already booming with growth far exceeding the longest, slowest recession recovery ever, under Obama.

8. FLASH! Trump gets credit in the New York Times for one of his accomplishments!! And the press gets lambasted for intentionally ignoring it. I'm looking out the window to see if I see any flying pigs, or if there is news of hell freezing over. Well, it was just an op-ed, not "fake news." And of course there's still plenty to ignore -- the economy, tax relief, illegal immigration plummeting,...(more in the last link below). As long as they're focused on Russian collusion & tweets, I guess they can't get in the way of his agenda.
And speaking of tax relief, remember when we heard no end of complaining from the Dems about American corporations going overseas? What do you think dropping the corporate tax rates to 21% will do? Why, bring many back, and pay those taxes here. As well as give all corporations greater margin to hire & grow.

[A FB Friend] whether you agree with the embassy move or not, nikki's move was excellent. if the un had tried to tell another country where to put its embassy, do you think that country would approve? i think not.

Mark Clayson Exactly. They somehow think we'll succumb to politically correct group think like the previous administration. Or humoring or acquiescing to tantrum-throwing Israel-haters. They're mistaken. Nor will we succumb to the still ongoing domestic post-election tantrum. At some point maybe they'll realize that. They're slow learners.

Mark Clayson And their expecting us to do what they wouldn't reminds me of 2 other recent events. Nancy Pelosi the other day warned the GOP Congress about passing the tax bill unilaterally -- that they'd be responsible for the consequences (yes, I hope we do get credit). This from the same person over the totally partisan Obamacare passage ("we have to pass the bill to see what's in it") -- and yes, they are seeing that Titanic sinking -- and they still won't acknowledge that. And today CNN was trying to reassure themselves and us of how mean Trump is by noting that his first tweet after the train derailment today was about the sagging infrastructure (followed very shortly by a tweet of condolences to the victims). These are the same people who immediately after any shooting go to gun control -- and even days later are social messaging attacks about the victims deserving it. I guess it helps to never look in the mirror. Or just projection.

10. Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's Capital

After 70 years, it is finally time to state the obvious. The nay-sayers can show no improvement in the peace process with the former policies that only bowed to fear of threats of violence, bolstering that threat mentality. Enemies of Israel of course see it as another indication of the permanence and recognition of Israel, which they vehemently and violently oppose. Trump's speech offered an olive branch to a Palestinian state, whose capital he would likewise recognize. But they've been offered a two-state solution a number of times, and would rather continue to wage hate and war for a single-state solution (Palestinian only -- no Israel).

And the rest of the world is apparently cowed or propagandized into going along with them -- e.g., the BDS movement. The most democratic, tolerant, multi-cultural, multi-faith, fair, & open society in the region is stigmatized for defending itself against enemies all around who vow it's utter destruction, and have attempted it multiple times. The only way to pacify their enemies is to surrender their lives and land -- which no other people on earth would be expected or willing to do. They have every bit as much right to that land historically and otherwise as the Palestinians. And they are willing to share it -- unlike the Palestinians.

Israel is the only country in the world supposedly not allowed to designate its own capital, and have it recognized. Even Pakistan & Bangladesh and their capitals were recognized following much greater bloodshed and refugee problems in partitioning and establishing their new states out of India that had absolutely no historical basis. How else does one explain it other than antisemitism? And the hatred of Israel is only matched by the hatred of the U.S., in countries like Iran who chant death to America, North Korea, radical Islamists under all banners, and Leftists throughout the world who abhor all its values, are jealous of its prominence and riches, etc. As if secular Leftism (or radical Islamism) has left anything in its wake but mass death and misery where fully implemented.  See also "Atheism Kills" (https://www.amazon.com/Atheism-Kills-Dangers-…/…/ref=sr_1_1…)
