Expert: Wall an essential part of a comprehensive solution. He's Obama's expert, and exactly right -- technology and manpower are only components of a comprehensive, effective solution, including an essential barrier (aka "wall") component. Like a multi-layer missile defense. Drones and detectors and manpower won't stop several thousand (or more) people rushing the border, and they're sure to increase the caravan size after these initial probes. And there's much less empirical or rational evidence they would be effective alone than evidence of the effectiveness of walls. How many constitute an "invasion" or "crisis" in the eyes of Democrats? Trouble is, it's a steady flow invasion over many decades -- about a million illegals a year. Like the frog in a pot of water heating slowly to boiling, and it doesn't sense the danger until too late. That million a year is much more over a long period than Europe or any other country...

12/22/18 Troops out of Syria As I acknowledged during the 2016 election, Trump may be a bit of a loose cannon, but at least they sometimes shoot in the right direction, as opposed to one constantly pointing in the wrong direction (Hillary).   And that has definitely proven true with his surprisingly many shots in the right direction.   He’s had good instincts and/or surrounded himself with, and heeded the advice of, good advisors. The “Great Victory” Charles Krauthammer said that Obama is like Lucy & the football (in the Peanuts comic strip).  As much as he says we need to stop governing by crisis, he continues to do so.  And to use them to further his political objectives – as Rahm Emanuel said, “never let a crisis go to waste.” They called this a “great victory”???!!!  They merely kicked the can down the road a few months, and did nothing to address the problems with Obamacare, the deficits, debt, etc.  All of which are hurting our economy already.  In his “victory” speech after the CR, Obama called the shutdown “completely unnecessary” – that’s right, he could have negotiated earlier, but was the one in the end who didn’t give an inch, and was willing to go beyond Oct. 17.  It takes 2.  “The American people are fed up with Washington .”  Spoken in his usual accusatory tone, as if he were not part of Washington , and part of the problem – even a big...
