High Ground Underground

8/8/17  North Korea Supposedly during the Obama administration N. Korea was years away from weaponizing their nukes, and ICBM’s.  Now, suddenly, according to the news, their recent ICBM test could have reached anywhere in the US, and they have 60 miniaturized, weaponized nuclear warheads to go on them.  So Obama conveniently kicked the can down the road, and basically did nothing.  Bill Clinton touted how great a deal he’d brokered thru Jimmy Carter with N. Korea, giving them billions to develop peaceful nuclear power with the assurance they wouldn’t develop weapons.  Laughable.  Just like Obama’s Iran nuclear deal, where many more billions of dollars were given, and kicked the can down the road just a bit.  But after decades of trying limited sanctions and diplomacy, putting up with N. GOP Debate Round 2 I attended a debate party Sept. 16 in Torrance. The GOP field has great depth, and several good choices. Just as in other races, it is not to the swift. Trump, & more recently Carson, have taken early prominence, but I think we we've now begun to see them fade. Trump took a beating. Strong performances by most others, but I think one star that continues to rise (as I anticipated in earlier blog posts as more get to know her) is Carly Fiorina. After graduating to the firs t tier debate group, following a commanding performance in the last 2nd tier debate, Fiorina held her own in the clash of the CEO titans with Trump. And she passionately and smartly articulated some timely wisdom. She repeated the need for stronger leadership to buck the status quo & logjams of decades. The Boston Marathon Bombers Is anyone but the Left shocked that Islamic radical terror continues despite our president’s “masterful” overtures to the Muslim world, and great care not to offend any?  The politically correct environment he fosters, with its lack of profiling, has resulted in the Ft. Hood shootings by Maj. Hasan (still officially called an incident of “workplace violence” despite all the evidence to the contrary), and now this bombing.  And how many more before we muster the courage to see it and address it for what it is?  Of course the Left had hoped it would turn out to be right-wing domestic terrorists, and Obama couldn’t bring himself to call it radical Islamic terrorism, even after the evidence was abundant.    We were fortunate they caught the terrorists relatively quickly.  Young men who had not assimilated into American culture, and who it now appears had been radicalized by Muslim extremists in Dagistan/C...
