We need to start petitioning legislators, protesting, and whatever it takes to make California safe, or I'm out of here. Enough with the sanctuary state & city laws. And enough with the ridiculous opposition to a border wall. Pelosi calls it immoral -- how? What scripture will she mis-apply this time? Isn't it immoral to make aliens believe they can illegally enter, thereby endangering lives of them & their children? And to have them deal with human & drug traffickers?  And to endanger the lives of Americans by criminals, terrorists & disease, and their livelihoods and quality of life by impacts on the job market and costs of welfare, education & health care for illegals? Yes, we should morally treat legal immigrants as any citizen, but we are not obligated to take in everyone in the world who wants to come. 12/22/18 Troops out of Syria As I acknowledged during the 2016 election, Trump may be a bit of a loose cannon, but at least they sometimes shoot in the right direction, as opposed to one constantly pointing in the wrong direction (Hillary).   And that has definitely proven true with his surprisingly many shots in the right direction.   He’s had good instincts and/or surrounded himself with, and heeded the advice of, good advisors. Well, the much-touted “blue wave” in the House turned out to be less than a typical/average midterm gain (average is 37 seats since WWII) by the party out of the White House, and much smaller than the GOP gains in Obama’s first midterm – a true red wave.   On the other hand, the GOP gains in the Senate were historic – the average is a loss of 4 seats, but that’s how many it appears the GOP gained to reach a majority size just one shy of their 90-year record.   And it appears that Democrats lost in the Senate in part as a price for their opposition to Kavanaugh (McCaskill, Heitkamp, Donnelly,…), whereas Mansion barely kept his seat by coming over. 10/27/18 The Absurdity of Blaming Trump for Everything The Left (including media) are very presumptuous that Trump caused one nut job to mail bombs to prominent Democrats, or another to shoot up a synagogue.   And that if only he changed his tone, all would be well.   They claim to all be psychoanalysts or clairvoyants, attributing causes, although they are equally sure the Bernie Sanders supporter who shot up a ball diamond full of GOP congressmen was not Bernie’s fault.   Of course we know that widespread Trump derangement causes one to look constantly for another reason to impeach him, however far the stretch, and to tout one’s moral superiority , and demonize all opponents.   My sense is that many or most Leftists/Democrats really don’t know anyone who they are aware of who voted for Trump, or the real reasons – partly because conservatives are often more reserved about it precisely because of the uncivility and brutality of the Left.   And so th...
